April 6th the patty was added. May 2nd was my 1st inspection (old queen
discovered dead) and May 20th noticed multi and off centered eggs. May 21st
when I was attempting to deal with the LW I discovered the young queen. I
did observe young worker bees, hence my confusion as the young bees could
have been from eggs that I missed on May 2nd. It lines up with potential
eggs from old queen or that of the new queen. The temperature event on
April 29th could be indicative of a mating flight or the virgin emerging
and dispatching the old queen...

It is an interesting story. Laying starting a day or two after the patty
does line up with a typical 16 day queen development cycle, the subsequent
mating flight and then 1st new egg. I moved her to a nuc box so I can
better monitor her and see how well she is laying. (Worker/Drone ratio)...
