The term "bee-haver" has been around a while. I found it used in "The Carolina Farmer" magazine dated March 1957.

This excerpt from the 1975 edition of "The Hive and the Honey Bee:"

> Good management requires intelligent adaptation of our abilities to protect, feed, and control the bees without interfering with their natural instincts. Knowledgeable interpretation and successful application of the principles involved in beekeeping are the mark of a good beekeeper. The alternative results in "the man with the bees" being simply a "bee-haver."
