This renewed observation made me wonder if you ever heard from, say, a queenless colony, a queen-like squeak, chirp, sing, or whatever you would describe the noises queens make. In other words, it is not only the queens that make such noises but also the workers, a potential topic for a Master's Thesis, perhaps.
