From the WABA-website:

LOGO
The WBW-SDGs Campaign triad logo is cradled by a blue line that represents
the “support system” shaped by communities to support breastfeeding.

At the end of the line is an arrow pointing upwards that indicates the
effort of “stepping up” needed to achieve sustainable progress.
///////////////
I don't relate the arrow to Mars, or to male. I relate it to 'going up',
swhooosh, to new and endless possibilities.
Besides, even IF it was meant to be 'male' - the line is meant to show
'communities'. Communities tend to be not female-only.

I think these male/female symbols may be what Carmela is referencing. I
don't know if they are multicultural. (I hope the diagram came through to
Lactnet)   [cid:ab4d192c-9274-4d5f-b9d0-06bbdd0f23de]

Subject: Re: WBW 2022 Logo

i do see the arrow elevating upper right, starting with the curved line
"under the family", so with the end of the arrow depicting "Mars" planet
symbol which is also the symbol of male; (versus Venus, with the "cross
under the circle" which represents female).

So I do wonder why one single gendered male symbol specifically only (hope
the sentence makes sense);
if we talk about the same symbol/logo...

Meanwhile, with the uppermost respect, toward ethnies, religions, genders,
sexual orientations.... sometimes, things strike me as having been turned
on their head.
Of course, maybe "Mars-male principle" symbol might not be understood the
same in some other countries/cultures than mine.

Breast regards,
Françoise Coudray, IBCLC
