Dear Lactnet Friends;

I searched for such a study and did not find it. I did find some excerpts
from a book entitled Eat, Sleep, Poop: a Commonsense Guide to your Baby's
First Year. (OMG what a dreadful title, as if a baby wasn't learning
anything in the first year of life!):

This book says that Gentlease is partially hydrolyzed; so a baby fed this
can still have allergic reactions to cow milk protein. This formula is
recommended for babies who are constipated by other formulae, supposedly
due to the type of fat used in its making.

What are the ingredients in Enfamil Gentlease?
*Ingredients*: Powder: Corn syrup solids, partially hydrolyzed nonfat milk
and whey protein concentrate solids (soy), vegetable oil (palm olein, soy,
coconut and high oleic sunflower oils) and less than 2%: Mortierella alpina
oil,* Schizochytrium sp.

I just found a lovely case report from an Indian newspaper:

.

warmly,
