My daughter has severe anxiety. Her daughter was born into a very bad DV
situation. My daughter found that cannabis helped the most with her
anxiety. She didn’t smoke while pregnant, but she made the decision (with
my guidance) to use cannabis while breastfeeding. It was very limited
during the first six months, but her DV situation was a nightmare and she
needed this medicinal drug to allow her to be a better mother. I’m happy to
say, they are now free from DV (after a broken arm and surgery with lots of
hardware). My granddaughter will be 3 in May, and they are still
breastfeeding! She is an amazing child - strong, smart, joyful, and so
healthy that I worry she isn’t building her immune system. My daughter is a
better mother than I ever was, lol!
The moral? Don’t judge these moms. Some of them need a little help to allow
them to effectively parent. More women should just breastfeed and smoke pot!
Disclaimer: their pediatrician is aware. DCF became involved because of the
DV, and they also know she uses cannabis. (They were not going to fight
this Grammy who is an IBCLC and pediatric nurse, lol!)
