Wanted to see what wisdom there is on "tubular adenoma" in a breastfeeding
woman.
Saw a woman less than a week postpartum with a previous diagnosis of
tubular adenoma above her areola, and that area is moderately indurated,
slightly reddened. No fever. Breastfeeding great.
I read this general info: Tubular adenomas of the breast are related to
fibroadenomas.
Fibroadenomas show a proliferation of fibrous connective tissue pushing and
occluding glands and tubular adenomas show a proliferation of tubular type
benign glands and less fibrous
connective tissue.
So it makes sense that it might be effectively causing a bit of milk back
up in that area.
Wondering would you advise massage in that area?
Other advice in managing bf with this?
Thanks, Susan in Berkeley
