This gives a fairly good summary of the Thompson method. I like the fact that they say it's being trialled.

However I am very twitchy about the 'nose touching breast' bit. Wherever I have seen very efficient feeders the head is tilted back with the chin dug in, and ideally the nose does not touch - that may alter depending on different anatomies of course. It just seems to counter everything we have read and said.
This page (https://www.thethompsonmethod.com/about ) says it is evidence-based. I wonder what evidence it is based on.
