Hi all!
In the hospital where I work, we are looking at our infection control practices around cleaning of breast pumps, and cleaning of the receptacles that moms use to wash their breast pump parts.
I have some technical questions for those of you who work in NICUs. Please feel free to respond off-list.
1. On your units, when multi-user breast pumps are shared among moms, who cleans the pumps between uses?
2. What do you use to clean the pumps?
3. In what receptacles do moms wash their breast pump parts?
4. Are those receptacles single-use items? If not, how do you clean those receptacles between uses?
Many thanks for any information you can provide!
Best,
Lisa
