The pediatric practice where I work charts in PCC and used to chart in OP. With both they were able to build a lactation template into the program. It gets applied to the visit just like you'd apply a "well child" visit or "respiratory illness" to a medical visit. The template includes all of the info the medical provider would want to chart on as well. I've been charting in Electronic Medical Records for quite a few years now so have lots of thoughts about the pros and cons!
I happened to notice that one of our local hospitals, West Penn, was implementing EPIC a few years ago and was able to confirm by finding this article https://www.ahn.org/news/12-14-2018/six-ahn-hospitals-recognized-most-wired-2018-winners-chime. They have several lactation consultants on staff (here's a phone number https://www.ahn.org/events/nursing-mom-cafe-breastfeeding-support-group-24). I don't know what sort of charting program they use - but perhaps they would be somebody to speak with.
