I had rather extensive surgery on one breast for a benign tumor yours ago and
had no problems nursing on that breast other than finding that it makes a
little less milk than the other. She should probably be encouraged to try
both sides. Mastitis, if it does happen (and not physiologically clear to me
why it would) is treatable.
