The treatment should be based on the culture results. Usually staph is sensitive to diclox 500mg 4 times a day

If a physician has obtained a culture of on exclusively pumping mother's nipples and milk due to persistent trauma, and staph grew out of both (per mom) which antibiotic would normally be chosen to treat? (Nipples have already been treated topically with APNO)

Hi!
If there is a culture, there is also usually an antibiogram... This gives you information about the right choice to treat with.
If there isn't, a good choice is mupirocine.... And I'm assuming this mother has symptoms? If she has no symptoms there is not really a reason to treat.
:)
