Hello,

PTP

I’ve been working with a dyad for almost a month now (telehealth). We’ve
explored every avenue for breast pain- correcting latch, massage with PT,
in-person consultation with a local provider. Mom pumps once-twice per day
for dad to bottlefeed.

She has reported nipple sensitivity post-feeding for a couple of weeks now.
At first we were thinking it was just a result of continued poor latch
however I received this message from her today:

‘Past 2 days I have a burning/throbbing pain on my nipples. super sensitive
to the touch, even my shirts, bra, and pad cover make it worse. My nipples
are hard/ stay enlargrd or seem swollen. the pain is getting worse but I
don't see signs of an infection. hope to hear back soon....pain is pretty
bad :(‘

It almost sounds like a pump injury, or what I typically see in pump
injuries, but I really am at a loss. She has been using APNO for a couple
of weeks - could something in that be causing it? Any help would be much
appreciated - this mom has been such a trooper.
