Dear Lactnet Friends:

While s2s care has become practically routine in all our city hospitals, it
is not always immediate, continuous nor uninterrupted.  "Just let me do
these things for 5 minutes before putting baby s2s" sounds doable for a
busy nurse, but to a newborn baby, that 5 minutes is
completely disorienting.

s2s in the OR is not regular either. . .that depends on staffing. Some
folks can have that experience; most have to wait until recovery room.
