It has been a long time since I've taught a prenatal bfg class, but one of my favorite strategies I picked up from a colleague: I would ask for a volunteer (without saying what he would be doing) among the male partners and have him come up and sit in a chair. I would then use him as my model to demonstrate positioning ideas along with my soft breast and a baby doll. If anyone was starting to check out, they all sat up right away. There was typically a lot of laughter and everyone paid attention. I've also learned over the years that my male models learned a lot from their experience and went home to become exemplary supporters who know what needed to be done!
