I actually LIKED the Time Magazine article "Motherhood Is hard To Get
Wrong". Maybe my bias is that I don't have any children myself, but I do
see that moms, especially young, lower-income, immigrant or vulnerable
moms (where is there a new mom who is NOT vulnerable?) really need support
in all aspects of motherhood. I have made many mistakes in judgmental
comments I have made to moms and have come to realize that along with the
education I provide moms about childbirth, breastfeeding, and child care,
the most important thing I need to provide is SUPPORT TO THE MOM, and to
allow her space and permission to make mistakes and do things a little
differently, as long as those things are safe and they work for her and her
baby.
Over the years there have been many, many different ways to raise babies,
and I have to keep an open mind to every one's viewpoints.
Just my opinion. Thanks!!
