I agree with others who have said that this seems to indicate that there is an issue with the baby. I wonder if there is some underlying cardiac issue? Those infants often have oxygen desaturation problems during feeding. Would love to have the baby on pulse oximeter and observe a few feedings. Sometimes they are fine at rest but during exertion they drop their oxygen levels. They become fatigued quickly as their hearts often have more trouble circulating oxygen correctly. It could be some other congenital problem as well. I think this infant needs further evaluation by specialists. This is not normal behavior. Unfortunately, if the baby is growing the mother may have difficulty finding a Provider that takes this seriously. I hope I'm wrong, but just my experience. I find patients with concerns like this are often dismissed. She might need to be persistent. If she does get seen by a cardiologist or other specialist and they monitor oxygen levels, make sure they do it while the baby is feeding and not just at rest.
