Of note: feeds take 45 minutes, but gaining 5 oz per week average with
dream feeds - sidelying?), baby turned blue in hospital, 8th child (
sometimes a mother has recently weaned and she has plenty of milk very
quickly), 85 mls in 5 min - that's a lot.
So my thoughts are that perhaps baby has some underlying Airway issue like
maybe a small cleft or something coupled with strong letdown, so leading to
a somewhat of a nursing strike type issue. Perhaps baby needs a swallow
study and or ENT evaluation.
ASAP.
