As a one-case story, my third child had peanuts, peanut butter as
complementary foods while she was still breastfeeding. After weaning at 4
years of age, she had a severe allergic reaction to peanuts - that was a
big scare, totally unexpected!!! So while breastfeeding, she had been
protected and had been able to eat peanuts, no problem. But when breast
milk was discontinued, bam, her allergy shot up. She is still very allergic
to this day (17 years old).
