Hello All,
Although I did search the archives, I am not finding a definitive answer to this. At our hospital our management is interested in starting a support group. We recently lost our Baby Cafe and it left our institution without an easy peer-to-peer group to refer to. The manager would like us to start another group, but does not want the responsibility of a Baby Cafe. They have asked me, one of the IBCLCs, to report back on other ideas. My question is specifically: when an IBCLC is the facilitator of a support group, do we need to document? If it is a community-based group, and if mothers who birthed elsewhere attend, how do we document on them? Is a simple sign-in sheet enough?
I did review the SOP and the Clinical Competencies but did not come up with an answer specific to this question.
Any and all opinions are welcome! (Particularly yours, Liz Brooks. : ) )
Ljb
