I also had unexpected engorgement 30 years ago after miscarrying at 20 weeks gestation.
Although a LLL Leader for 6 years and a newly certified IBCLC (1985), I was totally unprepared and distraught.
I pumped once with a big old Ameda Egnell SMB (which I was renting for my LLL group) and cried with every drop.
