There are so many variations in breast size, shape, density and elasticity, and while I have a pretty good eyeball I don't always get it right. And we also wash and sterilize in order to recycle the demo pieces. ~Lisa Marasco             ***********************************************Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.htmlTo reach list owners: [log in to unmask] all list management commands to: [log in to unmask]:1. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. To address your point about mastitis treatments, this is one more indication of just how pharmaceutical based a society we are. In a deep way US and likely other western wealthy societies see pills, injections, supplements, special devices as the answer to all our problems. We see it in the way we are handling COVID (the vaccine with solve the problem), birth, behavior variations in our children, aging. It is everywhere. The only way I have seen to combat that is how we live our lives, how we treat and advise others when the opportunity arises. It’s exhausting and frustrating, which is why a forum like Lactnet is so important, so we can support one another, seek guidance and advice from one another who think largely similarly about the big issues.Have a good weekend all,NaomiOn Feb 11, 2021, at 7:48 AM, LACTNET automatic digest system <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> wrote:"If not treated with antibiotics, mastitis, or the painful inflammation of breast tissue that typically involves an infection, prevents breastfeeding and can become a serious condition."The above odd statement on the management of mastitis may have been provided by a ScienceDaily writer, rather than the authors of the study.  That above statement infers that the foremost and only appropriate treatment of mastitis is with antibiotics, and says nothing about the long-recommended approaches of breastfeeding more often or otherwise draining the breast more often, rest, compresses, etc. that often resolves mastitis without antibiotics, as opposed to "mastitis preventing breastfeeding."------------------------------------------Naomi Bar-Yam Ph.D.Founding DirectorMothers' Milk Bank NortheastPast PresidentHuman Milk Banking Association of North [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>office: 617-527-6263direct line: 617-340-3600www.milkbankne.orgwww.facebook.com/mmbne<http://www.facebook.com/mmbne>@MMBNorthEast------------------------------------------The information contained in this email message and any attachments may be privileged and/or confidential.  It is for intended addressee(s) only.  If you are not the intended recipient, you are hereby notified that any review, disclosure, reproduction, distribution or other use of this communication is strictly prohibited.  If you received this email in error, please notify the sender by reply and delete the message without saving, copying or disclosing it.  Thank you.             ***********************************************Archives: http://community.lsoft.com/archives/LACTNET.htmlTo reach list owners: [log in to unmask] all list management commands to: [log in to unmask]:1.
