I have used fenugreek tea in my practice for many years. The first
reference that I read reagarding thier use were: sarah danner in pamphlet
called nursing your baby beyond the first days produced by childbirth
graphics in 1986. the other reference was from paul fleiss
published in an issue of mothering magazine.
I have heard concern from collegues vis a vis possible harm from herbas in
general as a result of increased use.
I am very specific with the mothers I work with, I only make this
recoomendation in conjunction with all the other things that we do to assess
milk production and I specify fenugrek only - not a mix.
I have no experience with the capsules. The maple syrup spell makes
sense. It is used in the us as a source of imitation maple flavor.
It is on the list of approved herbals with the fda....
I suspect that as with anything else, what works for one person may not
for another.
