Dear Nikki

The short answer is No. Please see

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Power_of_One_(novel) for a long and full
description of the book, written by an Australian author, about the
historical conflict between English-speaking and Afrikaans-speaking South
Africans.

You know that I was raised in East Africa, before emigrating to
southern Africa, and I lived the largest chunk of my life in Zimbabwe,
South Africa's northern neighbour. I identify as a white African. I have
to confess that I am shaking inside at your prejudiced assumption. This is
the very first racial jibe I have ever seen on Lactnet, and it does not
become someone of your stature.
