There is research out there that shows that there is a physiological
response to placebo, that's why it is not really no effect! For example the
researcher gave post surgery pts a placebo pain reliever, and their
endorphin levels rose. When he/she gave them the opioid agonist, they
fell! Our brain is in so much more control that we think.
