Julie,It is very common for people to have active EBV w.o any symptoms or any awareness that the virus is active. About 90% of folks in the US and many other countries will have an EBV infection in their lives and there is research that indicates pregnancy is one stressor that can trigger reactivation. I have a current client whose labs just came back w active mono with no symptoms. Her baby is over a year and no one has suggested she wean, as such a suggestion would make no sense. My point is that many babies are exposed to the active virus w/o anyone being aware and no known adverse outcomes, so simply being aware cannot be a logical rationale for weaning. Jennifer
