Hi Susan
What I usually recommend when baby is gaining “above “ what’s required and still supplementing is to reduce the supplements, formula first, by 2 oz over the 24 hours. Usually I suggest 1/2 oz less at four feedings. If baby still seems hungry, breastfeed again, after all they only “need “ 1/2 an oz. After 2-3 days reduce by another 2 oz. following baby’s hunger cues. 
Keep going in this manner until baby is off supplements or the minimum needed is reached whichever is right for the family. I would also recommend weekly weight checks.
