I hope Norma has been advised to eat a very healthy diet to aid in her
healing. This can be interpreted so very many ways--but what I (as a
nutritionist) would urge is: No sugar, no white flour, 7-11
fruits/vegetable servings(about 1/2 cup each), and proteins of her choose
but as natural and whole as possible. Whole milk, and whole milk yogurt,
organic chicken or other meats, and fish 1-2 times a week, as well as
nuts. Carbs are not bad, but whole grains, real potatoes and sweet
potatoes, and brown rice/quinoa/etc are the carbs of choice. These along
with some fermented foods like fresh deli sauerkraut, and kombucha, along
with plenty of good old fashioned water--about 8-9 cups daily. These are
the things that comprise a healthy diet--no Ensure or similar supplements!
I wish her healing, and soon. She deserves so much from the world! She
has been a gift to so many of us with her sensible advice here on Lactnet.
I apologize if I offended anyone with my quote at the end of my last
email.
