Thank you, Everyone, for your contributions. 

You confirmed my suspicion that there was indeed, no research indicating that cortisol changes the taste of mother’s milk. 

I agree with you completely, Nikki. It felt to me like another instance of mother blaming. My hope is that it was subconscious on the part of the doctor and that he did not intend to communicate to the mother that her baby’s behaviour was somehow her fault, but that is definitely the message she got. And Margaret, I agree about the importance of slowing down and finding time to “woo” the baby back. I find this mom very engaged. She came up with a great list of ideas of things to try before even speaking with me. And Liz, thank you for the information on cortisol and our own taste buds. Fascinating!
