Hi Amy Wagner:
Some hospitals in Philadelphia don't bath the newborn for 24 hours after
birth. This has had a positive impact on breastfeeding, as well as newborn
temperatures and blood sugars.
There's a lot of research supporting delaying the bath. I'd go to Google
scholar and PubMed.
