Michelle,
I am just thinking outside the box. Perhaps mother could get a baby doll
similar to size/weight of a newborn. She can then practice with some of the
suggestions given and also practice positions to see how her arm reacts to
certain positions and to see what/if any barriers or padding could be used.
Has she consulted with her neurologist and/or perhaps an experienced OT
(they are well versed in adaptive devices and improvising all sorts of
things for daily living.
