This is a heads up about a study published yesterday that will likely be in the news.  From an article that explains the study:

SEATTLE, WA—Today a new study finding toxic chemicals in 100% of breast milk samples tested was published in Environmental Science & Technology. Scientists from Toxic-Free Future, Indiana University, the University of Washington, and Seattle Children’s Research Institute led the research, which shows that toxic PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated substances)—including new generation compounds currently in use—build up in people. Despite chemical industry assurances that current-use PFAS do not build up in people, the study finds detections of these chemicals in breast milk to be on the rise globally and doubling every four years.

The fact sheet from Toxic Free Future is here: https://toxicfreefuture.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Factsheet-Breast-Milk-Study-May-2021.pdf  The study is accessible here:: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.est.0c06978
No doubt, formula companies and Fed Is Best will try exploiting this in marketing designed to increase fear about breast milk.  I expect that the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine might publish a response soon. For now, here's some information to bolster your response that human milk is still the optimal food for human babies, despite a chemically polluted world:

From the AAP. Healthy Children Project:

There is no medical reason to stop breastfeeding due to PFAS concerns. The advantages of breastfeeding for mom and baby outweigh potential risks of exposure to PFAS through breastmilk. Breastfeeding moms can reduce further exposure to PFAS chemicals by drinking bottled water until their water system improves.
This study that state that PFAS are passed from the mother to the fetus during pregnacy and also found in infant formula:  https://milkgenomics.org/article/assessing-evidence-around-perfluoroalkyl-substances/
Feel free to share if you have other information.
