Nearly 40 years since the introduction of an international code......after decades of advertising breastmilk substitutes to readers of The BMJ, we have decided it is time to stop. [!!!} This validates my research "From Paper to Practice" 25 years ago about it takes practice 20-30 years to change. BMJ took 40. Gene Cranston Anderson's early articles on Kangaroo Care were published in the late 1980's. Do you have routine STS in your hospital? Do you have nurseries or rooming in routinely? Sometimes I think we haven't made any progress and then I see young mothers at my LLL meetings and hear them saying good things that I wish I had known in the 60's!
