PTP. Exclusively breastfed baby girl with falling wt percentile (on the WHO growth chart, wt for age ) from 33rd percentile at 6 mos to 15th percentile at 9 mos. Baby (9 mos) weighs 16#2oz and is 26.75 in. long. Baby has had steady weight gain/growth since birth. Head circumference is in the 48th percentile. Reaching developmental milestones, except a slight lag in gross motor (just rolled over from her back to tummy, already rolled from tummy to back). Parents are small stature (mom is 5'4", dad 5'8" and one granddad is 5'3") Eats 3 solid food meals per day after nursing first (an hour before). Baby signals when done both with solids and at the breast. Mom says baby seems happy, content and satisfied. Mom pumps 4-5 oz when she does pump (only occasionally). Peds wants mom to supplement baby with formula and return for a weight check at 12 mos. My recommendations would include breastfeeding baby as much as she can, offering supplemental breastmilk, giving nutrient dense solid foods such as avocado, Stony Field Yobaby Yogurt, pasture-raised meats, pasteurized egg yolks, sweet potato and butter/olive oil. Other suggestions, oh wise ones?
