 I think part of the problem is obsession with glucose levels.  Old research shows that babies with levels of 30's and no sx do OK in first 24 hours.  Then the standard became 40 and now it is 50.!
A spoonful of expressed colostrum should be the standard supplement if anyone is concerned about the glucose level, but good grief that isn't scientific enough!  Some one please do a study!!! Pat in SNJ
