Everyone, I've noticed in Medications and Mothers milk 2012 edition that
the use of hydrocodone postpartum has more caution in regards to the
dose. There is caution when mothers take 30-40 mg total dose. I've
always suggested mothers keep an eye on the newborn when they take
hydrocodone, but the newer text seems stronger and gives a specific
total dose. I would think this refers to mothers that take regular
hydrocodone rather then the mother recovering from CS or especially
difficult vaginal birth. What experience do you all have with this.
