My personal opinion, at this point, would be to minimize or discontinue
altogether, the testing/exploration of medical causes.
I would maximize mother/infant togetherness and "normalize" their
relationship as much as possible. I like the supplementer at the breast if
mother likes it - I like the makeshift one threaded through a bottle/teat.
I would not measure the milk transfer at this time.
I think that both the mother and infant being unwell are the big factors in
this situation.
Mother will see her milk supply increase, as I think it will - how much I
don't know.
Expressing after feeds will be very helpful, whenever mother can manage
that.
