She can read the book(s) by Marasco and/or West about Making More Milk; she can investigate some herbs that are purported to help “grow” more breast tissue or glands (goat’s rue). She can begin prenatal expression of colostrum if it is safe to do so during the end of her pregnancy. She can begin to learn about supplementing at the breast via the SNS, LactAid, or homemade device (found on Jack Newman’s website(s). She can decide if she wants to do a lot of extra pumping (if so I recommend a hospital-grade pump like the Symphony or Platinum) or if she wants to focus more on mothering and bf with the tubing.
There are certainly online groups that support mothers thru this (MOBI and others). Best wishes to her.
