One of my favorite articles on the subject. Bibliography also helpful.

----

A mother of a a 7 mos old infant who had not been gaining well a couple of months ago is able to provide about 17 oz of breastmilk/24 hr via breastfeeding (she did feeding weights) and 4 oz of expressed milk, plus solids for good, WNL weight gain now. Her question to me is whether the amount of breastmilk being given is adequate for optimal physical/mental development.
She has trouble increasing her milk supply. Her baby is happy, and developmentally on target.
I'd appreciate any input as not finding info this specific. Thank you.
