Marie,
You mentioned imagining a support system in the U.S. that would equal what
Roberta's mom of triplets experienced in Mexico.  I am an Orthodox Jew and we
have such a support system in our Los Angeles community.  When a mom has a
baby, the community pitches in and brings dinners for at least 2 weeks for the
entire family.  We have large families so there are always other issues besides
food.  Car pools are taken over by others, errands run, etc.  It has begun to
be something that we take for granted.  Of course, those who are on the
receiving end will always turn it around and be the *giver* when the next mom
needs help.
