The breast massage/hand-expression video on the Breastfeeding Medicine of Northeast Ohio, by Ann Witt and Maya Bolman, shows the basic technique and nicely conveys that there's no one strict way to do hand-expression, and shows mothers getting gratifying squirts of milk. (So if you're dealing with mothers working for colostrum, you may need to explain that this bounty lies ahead.) And I discovered this morning that the site has added a new video on latching!

This international public-health organization includes excellent videos for mothers, once again promoting the idea that human activities like breastfeeding and hand-expression take some learning and experimentation -- no strict rules:
Here's the page of general videos, with a drop-down menu on the right hand side with the languages available (so this site is valuable in our cosmopolitan world):

Here's the hand-expression video

And here is a wonderful latching video, with nice close-up pictures,

You're right that it's useful for mothers to see some ideas.

> Has anyone else noticed that Jane Morton removed all of her videos from her website? We used her hand expression video all the time to teach patients in the hospital. Does anyone have a good free video to replace it? I think you have to buy her videos now it looks like.
