Hello all,
I have an anatomy question: how many lobes are understood to be in the breast?
In the 15-20 camp is both:
Geddes, D. T. (2007). Inside the lactating breast: the latest anatomy research. Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health, 52(6), 556-563.
and the latest edition of Wambaugh, K. & Riordan, J. (2016). Breastfeeding and Human Lactation. Burlington, MA: Jones & Bartlett Publishers.
While, Dahl (2015) states 6-10, as cited in Clinicians guide to breastfeeding: Evidence-based evaluation and management.
and the seminal: Ramsay, D. T., Kent, J. C., Hartmann, R. A., & Hartmann, P. E. (2005). Anatomy of the lactating human breast redefined with ultrasound imaging. Journal of anatomy, 206(6), 525-534.
seems to imply a change from 15-20 to something new (on page 531), but it is clear as to what.
Anything more clear? Citations appreciated!
