I have searched the archives but cannot find the information I'm looking for. Someone (Pamela Morrison?) has posted in the past a weight gain protocol for a baby who needs calories -- now. Baby is 3 months old and has been losing weight, now down to 8 pounds 8 oz. Mom reports that baby is taking approximately 20 ounces per day, but when she tries to feed more, baby spits up. Pedi advised Elecare powder added directly to breastmilk. Mom understands that baby needs more calories but does not want to add the formula powder. I recall there being a formula for how much expressed milk/formula baby needs based on the weight baby should be, and how to give it so baby's stomach stretches and can handle larger volumes.
