Rachel,
I wonder if the PHN is taking the recommendation of when to start solids for
a formula fed baby (usually when the baby is drinking 500ml or more of
formula in a day and still doesn't seem satisified) as the limit of what a
baby is supposed to drink. Then add in the usual myth of if the child isn't
eating solids yet it's because they are getting too much milk and you get
this maximum amount. Having raised two picky eaters I now just laugh when
someone comes out with THE WAY to get a child to eat.
