Dear Friends,
I have a mother who came in today 10.5 weeks pregnant with her second
baby. She has a 10.5 month old baby who is still nursing. What if
anything, could she safely do to increase her milk supply?
Or what can she do to increase the calorie count into her baby's life?
The ped is suggesting formula.
I suggested: Some hand expressing, making sure the mother eats, drinks,
and rests. For the baby, I suggested plenty of healthy food, offering
more snacks at the breast, and maybe another healthy beverage. I
suggested she talk to her doctor about what other foods she could
introduce that would be action packed for her baby. The mother doesn't
want to use formula unless she really needs to.
The mother is having a healthy pregnancy with no concerns at this time.
Thank you!
