I agree with the suggestions regarding wearing baby with very frequent,
short feedings.
I also wonder if teaching mom how to do square breathing will lower HER
heartrate, calm HER down, and help baby to stay calm. Slight acupressure on
baby's hand with thumb and opposing forefinger may also help.
Watch for changes in baby's breathing during MER to see if that, combined
with noise level, is part of the problem.
A stressed mom may not be aware of the clues her baby is giving before
shutting down.
Wishing much success for this mom. She is lucky to have you on her team.
