Hi Linda,
It's not a quick read and not the most recent (2007) but I have just read the book Mother Food which may be of interest? Author recommends mother takes the herbal remedies. My review: http://breastfeeding.support/mother-food/ snipped:

"We learn that if a mother’s digestion is poor (leaky gut syndrome is given as an example); partially digested food molecules can enter breastmilk and lead to “fussiness, crying, fretful sleeping—even refusal to breastfeed in some cases.” The author adds that taking dill seed, fenugreek and marshmallow can help a mother’s digestion while at the same time lead to not only an increase in milk supply but also help a baby’s colic and heartburn."

I would be interested to know what others think of this book. I haven't spent any great time on the authors website but there may be something quick and easy there? (http://www.mobimotherhood.org/lactogenic-foods-and-herbs.html)
Philippa
