Cathleen,
Has the mother been investigated for retained products of conception, i.e.
retained placental fragments? Just because the mother had a C-Section
doesn't mean this can't happen. It can, sometimes with sizable fragments.
As you will know the existence of placental fragments is likely to impact
negatively on milk production.
Sadly, mothers who have this situation go on to believe they have faulty
breasts that won't produce adequately - and expect this to happen with
subsequent births. It may even lead them to decide not to start
breastfeeding next time  Yet it is something preventable or fixable if the
existence of retained products is identified.
