I feel it is important to add in here that our hospital uses the CHG wipes/showers for every c/s, however, it is performed from below breasts to knees for 3 minutes. We perform skin-to-skin with all deliveries including c/s and nurse on the OR table if baby so chooses. We have support from our Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Infection Preventionist, physicians, nurses, and anesthesia. I hope this helps you for any future push-back you will need to muster. (We are a baby friendly designated facility, as well :) We also had to push back to prevent the daily CHG "baths" that the rest of the hospital patient population must perform. As long as there is a value among the key stakeholders for human milk and the breastfeeding dyad, there is a hope for policies to align and support!

The protocol would be changed to using the wipes on the breast and chest area while we are currently only using it on the waist down. I am having trouble finding any evidence on the safety of this product as far as both skin-to-skin care and breastfeeding is concerned. Is anyone using this full body preparation in their hospital at this time? I would appreciate any feedback if you are familiar with this standard of care. Thank you so much!
