Two years ago I was in the market for a scale to use for pre-post feed weights. Only Tanita and Medela ( not sure about Seca) would give me the precise measurements I needed. It took 2-3 months of watching until I found a Medela baby Weigh (older model)for about $300-350 from a used medical supply store in the Midwest. Can't recall the name of the place, but it was just luck they had one. And they had a guarantee. It's worked wonderfully.
I looked often on nationwide craigslist, used/ refurbished surgical supply stores ( don't go to Medical supply stores as they sell more disposable supplies whereas surgical supply houses sell hard items), as well as eBay, and just "googling" it.
Good luck in your search -- be patient

I wanted names of quality brands and possibly hear from LCs who have bought scales second hand - what were your experiences, where did you look/buy? Any tips of what to look out for is highly appreciated.
